MapFirms 8.2.0 — summary of the main changes.

• Your own country first: a new installation reads your home country from Windows (region setting). The country list, currency and VAT of quotes, phone number format, business hours (time zone of the company's country) and the map start from your country — no longer from Turkey.
• Ready for the full version by yearly subscription through Paddle (Merchant of Record): once buying opens on mapfirms.com, you create your own account on app.mapfirms.com/hesap/ with your purchase e-mail and sign in to the program with that e-mail. Until then the full version is available on request by e-mail. Settings › Account shows your plan, the end date and "Manage subscription". When a subscription ends the program falls back to the free version; no data is deleted. 30-day refund.
• New legal texts in 6 languages (licence agreement, privacy notice, acceptable use policy, refund policy, pre-contract information). The installer and the first-start wizard ask for two declarations; when a text changes, the program asks again.
• Before your first call, WhatsApp message or e-mail you see a short reminder once. A new "Do not contact" mark disables calling and messaging for a company that refused contact; the record itself is kept.
• New slogan: "Stay ahead of the curve. Meet your next customers." — visible in all six languages.
• The light theme is now the default.
• New data sources, selected by default: Overture Maps open place data and official company registers (open data) for France, Norway, Finland, Czechia, the United Kingdom and Mexico. The worldwide GLEIF register can be added in the source list. Companies House and DENUE need your own free API key.
• Map services are an optional source: you can add them with the checkbox during installation or later in Settings › Search › Map Services. When they are on, they appear in the source list like the other sources, and "All sources" selects every available source. After the update, the source selection starts once from the new defaults; your companies and saved searches are kept.
• Social links found on a company website are cleaned (company pages only). Optional verification is off by default. No request is ever sent to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads, Messenger, LinkedIn, X or TikTok.
• Small, calm animations; all of them follow the "Animations" setting.
• The black terminal strip is gone. The new Activity indicator in the sidebar and the Activity panel (Ctrl+J) show running jobs, problems and a timeline, with "Copy for support".
• Clean start: settings from older versions are updated once (light theme, automatic home country); none of your data is deleted.
• The live scan radar was rebuilt (real sweep, range rings, companies light up at their own location) and uses much less processor time.
• "The PC shuts down when a scan starts": on the reporting PC the cause was the graphics card driver (blue screens); the program now avoids the Chrome probe that woke the graphics card, runs Chrome at low priority and closes it reliably. Update your graphics driver.
• Proxy rotation and random browser identity were removed. When a source limits access, the program waits and pauses that source; CAPTCHAs are never solved or bypassed.
• Many layout fixes in all languages, and the user manual was updated in six languages.

Installation

• Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). No administrator rights needed — installs into your user folder.
• Run the file after downloading. If Windows warns because it has not seen the file before, choose More info → Run anyway.
• To check that the installer is intact, run in PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\MapFirms-Setup-8.2.0.exe -Algorithm SHA256
• Installed copies check for updates under Settings › Account › Update.
